As I came over Wicklow Gap
All on a summer’s day
A sight I met which held me trapped
And took my breath away
A view emerged as if to say
Stop and remember well today
Treasure the memory from this day
Before you’re on your way, now
Before you’re on your way
As I came over Wicklow Gap
All in a summer still
The sun shone on the mountain cap
A single shaft of golden spill
And lit ablaze the very hill
I can recall it still
If ever my spirit’s ill
It lifts my heart and always will, now
I know it always will

Martin, a chara i gCillmantáin, Bravo on the Wicklow Gap poem. Its worth all of that spilt gold! I'll catch up with the others later. Thanks for your fáilte.
Martin this could so easily be sung - - it has the lilt of a song to it and it reminded me of a visit to the very place long ago - - such beautiful area - - thank you for this. - - hope all is well with you..... Fay

I do believe Fay is right. It does have the lilt of a song. It is one of God's blessings that we all have had these rare moments that something in God's creation comes in and takes residence in our soul for the rest of our lives.
