As I Fly Over Mountains Poem by D. Joyce

As I Fly Over Mountains

Rating: 4.5

I see through the eyes of a bird
My wings flapping gently in the wind
To places known only by word.
Through canyons and places
That I've never seen
Stories with strange writing
Hidden amongst green.
Snow covered mountains
Where people can ski
Ice covered lakes
That lead out to the sea.
I pass over volcano's
That has been sleeping for years
The people that live there
Live with this fear.
How wonderful to see this
And its all free
I am one of Gods creatures
Oh! Lucky old me
For I am an eagle
I have very sharp eyes
I see all these things
As I fly through the skies.
I have just landed
On the bough of a tree
I shout from the tree tops
And its great to be free.
