As She Wails Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

As She Wails

Rating: 5.0

In a windy chilly night
As she shivers and stutter,
She gazed at the sky in search,
To glance a spot of light,
From depth of the vast expanse,
But no star seemed opening eyes!
Her teary eyes shelled out sorrow,
Her shell-shocked mind timid,
Her heart beat missed a moment,
As the agony swelled like a river,
When the stormy monsoon lashes,
Her lips tremble with fear,
Of the dense silence of solitude,
That hover her life's realm,
Where owl's creak in fear,
That parrots sleep in misty cold,
That lions roar in hunger,
That tigers trap the deer,
She left alone in the terrific terrain!
Gazed again and again at the sky,
With the deepest desire for a star look!
But the thick dense darkness came tough,
That cover the star-studded sky,
With no mercy in mind,
She wailed and chocked in dismay,
And folded hands in prayer,
But no apparition yet in solace!
Let there be a beacon and not illusion!
