Asyou Possibly Can Poem by Francis Duggan

Asyou Possibly Can

The longest lived human life in real time not such a long span
On average a few years more for a woman than it is for a man
Which averages out at three score and ten years which is not long in time
We age rather quickly beyond our life's prime
Though time seems to rob us of our youthful elan
You ought to live for as long as you possibly can
Since on the teachings of theologians one on cannot rely
There may not be a paradise somewhere beyond the sky
At what you do you may have known great success
But life is the greatest gift you does possess
And though your best days in the forever gone
Our fear of death does make us want to live on
Though the longest lived life in time not a long span
Do live for as long as you possibly can.
