Askance Poem by Mya Briseno

Askance

I'm sitting at the table
I see you across the room
If I do this, you may
Disappear or reappear
I sneak an askance to you
I'm sitting on a bench
I see you across the street
If I do ths, you may
Hide or confront
I sneak an askance to you
I'm sitting in a chair
I see you across the table
If I do this, you may
Smile or glare
I sneak an askance to you
I'm standing in front of you
If I do this, you may
Kiss or ignore
I sneak an askance to you
I'm walking away; my every move
I see you watching
If i do this, you may
Cry or be enraged
I sneak and askance to you
As I do, you are smiling
Therefore, I'm glad
I know I need you but I don't know about you
In the end...
I sneak an askance to you
There as my heart longs for you
Askancing is dangerous
But,
I'll still askance to you
Forever and Always
