Assuming Too Much Poem by Ray Hansell

Assuming Too Much

Rating: 5.0

Hello, I'm hoping you're alright
I didn't hear from you tonight
Maybe you just spoiled me
As an email from you I expected to see
Maybe it's that I expect too much
You must know your words are a wonderful touch
I so look forward to reading you
When you don't write I'm not sure what to do
But I know that I must change the way
On how I'm thinking day to day
I can't count on you to fill in a void
I don't want you to get annoyed
So for now I'll leave us right here
Tomorrow my sadness will disappear
But I know I won't be feeling down
So tomorrow I won't wear a frown
Please don't ever take this wrong
But sometimes we can't all be strong
I'm not disappointed, nor am I hurt
I just need to put my self on alert
Sometimes I reach for the top
Wanting people to give more then they've got
That's always been a fault of mine
I know I must change with the time
I must realize people have things to do
I don't want to put any added pressure on you
That's not my intention with the things I say
I just missed not hearing from you today
