At First Smile Poem by Ludolf Dauphin

At First Smile

It begins with your smile across the room
Our eyes met flames of pure passion erupt
My heart jumps skipping beats after beats
Levitates through the air, breathless
My soul melts like snow in the desert sun
As you move into my life, restlessly
Each step more sublime than the next
Is this love that I felt
Or is it lusts that my heart embodied to
I've only just met you, only a short time
And yet, I cannot come near to expressing what I felt.
How it hurts and brings me joy as you smile
And yet, I don't even know much about you, except
It begins with your smile across the room
My heart jumps skipping beats after beats
