Atons Cat Poem by Maxwell B Anderson

Atons Cat

The warmth and light, Kiss
all the land, and
Raising up my comforting
hand, placing a disk
to play their ghosts
to let them dance;
the feline hosts.

Nefertiti strokes the tail
as it coils around, slow
like a snail.
A pleasant purr, accents
the sentiment; Wine in abundant
Jugs, spiritual sediment.

Nairobi plains adjust to heat...
The Nile has her disciples
The sermon complete!
The fur of ancient Gods
Like silk, the sun bathes
The soul in mothers milk.

Accordingly like a conspired
kill, the heart gives up its
living thrills; into the afterworld
Where its guardian has kept,
Atons grace
Where the animal once slept.

You have such a beautiful way of expressing yourself. The words portray love imagery. Well done
