Attrition - And An Apology- Poem by Leaking Pen

Attrition - And An Apology-

I am behaving like
A bat infected with rabies
Searching for livestock
To feed its madness
Is this picture clear enough?
About the way I feel
Since you've gone missing
And nowhere to be found.
First I've searched our neighbour's front and back yard,
And then every farm to the furthest horizon
To find and catch your wandering eyes,
Are you now feasting on greener pastures?
That mine could not offer I wonder,
You are my one prized cow,
That gave me that special milk
To make my award winning ice cream
With its special flavour!
Worshiped by connoisseurs near an far,
You even did one TV commercial
And were filmed for a children's
Public TV after school special,
Mooing the benefits of milk slurping,
Fortifying our children's bones and
Implanting the idea of strong bones form strong minds.
So what if you stunk a little bit,
Look at all the good you did
Even in Hindu countries,
You are considered sacred and holy
And beauty is compared to your big eyes
In Near Eastern countries.
When love begins to flirt
Yalla, yalla, yalla
Ma shallah swing your tail,
Oh come back to daddy's farm,
And let me wave my hands
And in celebration, I'll break into a belly dance,
The manly version of course!
