We are caught
Yelling, crying
We were safe, we thought
I pretend I am flying
They took away my clothes and doll
They shaved are heads
I run and fall
A man picks me up and beats me
He yelled Stupid Jude
They hate us you see
They give us no food
We die
There are only few
Why?
Because we are Jews.

This poem by a ten year old girl expresses the horror better than many eloquent verse. The awkward rhymes and misspellings are essential here, especially the word Jude that is meant to rhyme with food but accidentally is the German word. What would Adorno have thought of this?
