Australia - They Sing Their Songs To Renew The Land Poem by Paul Warren

Australia - They Sing Their Songs To Renew The Land

The endless summers come and go
In the eternal Australian sunshine show
As the yellow blazing sun beats down
On the hardening red and yellow ground

The aborigine people have been here 60,000 years
And have a relationship with nature held so dear
They sing their songs to renew the sacred land
As they continue in their faithful plan.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The aborigines sing their songs at different times of the year to renew the land with each clan singing their song for a different type of animal. They say if they don't do this nature will not renew. Perhaps this is why there are species disappearing and the earth laid waste.
