Autumn Days Poem by Kevin Patrick

Autumn Days

Rating: 5.0

September broke her summer leg.
now it Falls on cool October
her foliage cowed in subtle shades
bejeweling leafs in a circus of colours
til one by one they leave their home
descending in a swirling spell
they pirouette through the brittle air
like ballerinas in a slumber
they land making nimble piles
of ambient tombstones
in auburn afterglow
and as I walk the open yard
they shimmer on my running shoes
with sounds of autumns waves
roaring through the rustling
of their tender brittle skin
and as I tread through their mounds
I want to jump in their crests
and bury myself deep
in the orange ocean
of amber shallows
and reds deep void
but I walk like a growing up
stiff lip and shoulder strapped
putting away the childish thoughts
and heading towards my autumn years

Cool October has fallen with the fall of Autumn. You have beautifully observed autumn days and perceived the nice imagery. Heading towards autumn years definitely gives us nice feeling. An interesting poem is beautifully penned with excellent narration...10

There is leaves everywhere where I live, but your poem makes them more acceptable. A great poem.
