Autumn Moon Poem by Dr Sarat Sonowal

Autumn Moon

Sitting on the river bank
With the company of fallen leaves
The dancing fireflies entice me
With their magical tricks
The mystic river flows on
With the music on the hill

I look upon the autumn moon
I feel the moonshine falling upon me

She whispers
‘You're not alone my friend
It's been a while you haven't smiled'

And here I reply to her
‘Hey lovely moonshine how can I smile without you'
You bring me love, you bring me joy
So, how can I smile without you?
Lovely moonshine
'My soul will cry for you when you will fade and die'

As the night passes by
The autumn moon slowly fades
With the advancing dawn
And with her I fade
With my memory and my life
