B: Xx: Wake In Fright

Rating: 5.0

A chameleon amongst the stars
Unable to hide any more.
(It happens every morning) .

A lord takes o'er,
Reawakening fear of The Yabba.

A dark sympathy arises,
Containing all memory,
And generously,
Vermilion surprises.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
after reading Baudelaire's 'L'Aube Spirituelle'.
'The Yabba' is the town in the movie 'Wake in Fright' and therefore a euphemism for 'death'...better than 'death' and 'Lethe'.
And my first use of 'o'er'. Does that make me a real poet?
Perhaps those 'surprises' include salami.
