Baby Beats (2003) Poem by David Joel Rodriguez

Baby Beats (2003)

Rating: 3.0

Sometimes day or night,
The timing has to be right.
Not always,
But, you are quite spontaneous.
When you decide to beat,
We always make a fuss
and it's only just your feet.
Mommy calls me to feel,
Kinda cool how this is so real,
Daddy places his hand
on mommy's tummy band.
Somehow, daddy is always late.
Now daddy has to wait.
Again you begin with your baby beats.
Can't stay calm cause Mommy craves sweets.
Mommy calls me again,
So there I go to feel little Chrystian.
This time I place not my hand but my head,
And what do you do? you kick my forehead.

That's ok,
it's not that bad,
the bruise will go away.

Love Dad
