Baby in our House
Granny was tip-toeing round like a mouse
Surely there had to be a baby in the house
I could see no cradle nor could hear a cry
Yet I heard Granny humming a soft lullaby
There was a delightful look on the face of the mother
Which meant only one thing, and no other
The father was excited I noticed, plain as could be
As tiny little hands and feet kept tugging at me
A bundle of joy lay on the bed with such a pleased look
Rosy cheeks a red nose like an angel in a picture-book
I said to myself this baby has brought joy so much so
There is no second word about it, this I positively know
As the baby looked up with eyes so bright
I could keep watching him day and night
I could stay no longer by its side any longer
As it sought its mother's milk in hunger
Restyour head softly, no need for you to cry
Your mother will feed you and sing a lullaby
Sweet little angel with tears in your eyes
Cry no more as the angels from dreamland is nigh
Baby, sweet angel, with skin so soft and fair
Withpink little cheeks and jet black hair
In your angelic world there should not be a care
As angels do protect you with their prayer
Precious and joyful your love is to me
Until I held you in my arms my mind was not free
How wonderfully magical my life has turned to be
You've opened everyone's heart and souls to be free

Aww! The most delightful poem. Oh, to be a child in the arms of man!
