Back When Women Were Women Poem by Bryan Corbett

Back When Women Were Women

there was a time
not too long ago
when women were
equal with men

then

came the feminists
who gave us the gift
of not knowing whether
or not to:
hold open a door
tell her how pretty she is
reach out for her hand
walk her back to her place
just to name a few...

back when women were women
and men weren't scared of their own shadows

[Dedicated to Annie Edson Taylor who,
on her 63rd birthday, October 24th,1901,
became the first person to survive a trip over
Niagara Falls in a barrel.]
