Baisakh Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Baisakh

Baisakh is coming,
Chaitra turning into Baisakh,
Jaruls and gulmohars have started blooming,
The woodlands still glisten with the green leaves
And scent has not exhausted,
White jasmines keep bloomign during the night-time.

Baisakh is coming,
Chaitra turning into Baisakh,
It may rain
After a spell of the heat wave,
Heat and humidity,
The hot wind blowing
To ruffle with the hot, humid season,
But the rains not to leave it behind.

The break may start with the Kalbaisakhis,
The westerlies coming
With force and gloom
To calm down the swelling temperature,
But may frighten with lightning and thunderquill,
Leaving us awe-struck and dumbfounded.
