Balance Scale Of Silence Poem by Porshia Chawla

Balance Scale Of Silence

Rating: 5.0

Like the two scales of a balance
We come at the same level
Neither more nor less
It is not the same quantity of the content
But it is our emptiness
Emptiness is what brought us on the same plane
You are also empty, I am also empty
Our being together in this silence
It's like being in the balance suspended in the air
Even the rustling air cannot fill one scale more than the other
It cannot even shake it
Is it divine interference, or some synchronization?
The music is playing in the background
However nobody can hear it
Only you and me
Music, the music of silence
The only thing between us
We are still on different scales
But on the same balance
O Lord! Let the suspension be over!
Keep us together and pack up!
For I long to meet my reflection
The use of a balance is fulfilled so, I know
So, I pray you please dismantle the balance!

Hi Porshia! your imagery is excellent...2 empty scales, identical and balanced because they carry no weight...later on it turns out that the other scale is actually your own reflection...even in real life we keep searching for our own reflection in people...nice poem...post some more...
