Ballad Of A Hero Poem by Jack F.G Matiza

Ballad Of A Hero

Rating: 5.0

Young black and intelligent
Mummy's little baby boy
father's favourite
the cleverest of the boys
The oldest in desert kingdom
the other with the family on the battle ground
He make escape into bush
to fight the beast that had devowed his forefathers
And sentenced his unborn children into life imprisonment
with hard labour to feed its insatiable appetite for black coffee He faced it fought and beat it
armed with the anger of the forefathers and the dreams of the future flag bearers, he did not waver till the beast was dowm.
