Ban The Bomb Poem by Catherine Ayres

Ban The Bomb

Rating: 5.0

War is a nonsense as it doesn't make sense,
It's much much better to sit on the fence.

There's only one race, the Human Race
but we Kill each other at a very fast pace.

We're all related if we go back far enough,
but sides are formed and it gets very rough.

Amongst the first weapons were flintstones and perhaps the odd spear,
We're now at the stage where we SHAKE WITH FEAR.

Atomic 'technology' and ridiculous 'deterrants',
Such folly from the Earth's tenants.

War is ancient but it doesn't make it right,
Primitives knew no better but we should now know not to fight.

Science isn't all fully understood, yet risks are taken,
Now is the time for people to awaken.

If Governments can't be grown up enough to talk without physical rage,
Then we've not moved very far from the flintstone age.

Atoms are everywhere, trillions, zillions, billions but,
We could be wiped out before we make an amazing, new, interesting discovery.
