Barren Moon Poem by Esther Negbo

Barren Moon

Rating: 3.0

Oh! fearful child of the Moon
Where doth thou run to?
Be not afraid Aweh, mother
Earth isn't mean to Awele.

Come and linger in the beauty
of Elizabeth.
She will nurture thee and cradle
Thee in her arms.
She will show thee the love of a
Mother.

Oh! little Moon of mother earth
Isn't it about the rite hour
for yea to avail thyself?
Why make mother cry and fear
for an empty womb?

Thou knoweth mother's love than
the sun.
Thou remindst her of another day.
Mother's heart bleeds for thee
She enjoys thee in the evening
while relaxin from the harshness
of the sun.

Mother believes in thee brave Moon
Come! come! come to Mama.

It's lovely. A beautiful train of thoughts, well articulated and nicely encapsulated into a poem. Reminds me of TALES BY MOONLIGHT. A good one indeed. Do keep it up and thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
