Barricade Of Dominoes Poem by Norman F. Santos

Barricade Of Dominoes

For every query, a sedative truth
Supercilious codes downhill the roots
Surreptitious cards no eyes can muse
Of one gambit too bare for this ruse-
Sauntering thru and fro one crooked route.

Stocking piles in sophistication
Piece by piece, veneers of sublimation
Detrimental mirror of affectation;
A barricade of flimsy protection
Fall from grace in one miscalculation.

Such flaccid porcelain walls,
Quelling all hesitant vitriol
Your slightest graze and it shall fall
Stroking naked a threadbare soul,
Quaking down the depths of my hall.

Let the body collapse unto another
Amassing verve, harvesting vigor
Smearing a soul out of lacquer
When these stockades thaw into a river
Of rippling revelations beneath a maneuver

No signal fires, no encryptions
Walls will crash but this is not destruction
Cry mother, this is damnation!
Wail brother, this is abomination!
Kneel. This is revelation.
