Bats In Fruit Tree Tropics Fly Into Mind Poem by Terence George Craddock

Bats In Fruit Tree Tropics Fly Into Mind

Rating: 5.0

spent hours
watching
fruit bats

coming
going
from

a tree
in fruit
in tropics

glorious red fruit
burst into season
laden bats attracting

cyclic feast fruit harvest
yearly from cooler balcony
nightly watched bat ballet

seamy troptical nights
in restless nights foreboding
poet stayed up all night writing

satin dark silk night
mind inked in seams
hunger verse claiming

poetic mistress muse
claiming claiming claiming
poet restless soul hunger writing

when exhausted to balcony returning
write exhastion dry bat ritual returning
to watch bat flight flutter in shutter lens flying

used to dark night
whistle a few feeding
bats into my balcony watching

some always
flew within inches
of my face at night in greeting

wonderful mystic night
bat flight friends enriching
poetic flight flutter ritual writing
