Battles Of The Mind Poem by obinwanne chibuike

Battles Of The Mind

Rating: 4.0

The night they come with invading fear
engulfing our retinal with dark clouds-
-dark cloud of sadness in suspense
that promise no falling rain.

'Turn on the light that we may see
for this sea of darkness pierces our sight'

and so the sun in meekness come painting
the little dark room with white rays
Innocent as a lamb sauntering in the wild it come

But these men of fortune, men of sage!
whose bane has been the bane of a bat that sees..
did yell still..

'Too much light we can't see!
what mystery the dark lay hold'

Too much goodness, too much fame;
too much sadness no one could tame

For the unseen battles
of the mind
Cause men to fight many
shadows in the dark
