Beautiful Beast



It followed me home and into my room
Turned out the lights, dumped me in gloom.
Darkened eyes, hunger for something more,
Something other than the beast on the floor.
Supposed beauty, moonlight and sunshine,
Overpowering my senses, eating away at my heart,
Creating space between me and my reality

Now its tied around my wrist
I carry it everywhere, its stuck
It won't go away,
The beautiful beast that led me astray
Made me believe in what I can't see,
Self-absorbed, but not the good kind,
I cry out to the beast, to leave me alone!
The beauty has long gone
I cry for help
Someone find me here
Save me from the beast
The beautiful beast
That is....
