Beautifully Tragic Poem by Amy Stuart

Beautifully Tragic

I felt His hand touch mine,
I swear I stopped breathing altogether.
Then my mind soared,
When His fingers twitched under mine.

His smile sent a shockwave,
through my already fast-beating heart.
And when He spoke to me,
My eyes light up with happiness.

My world evolves around Him,
And He doesn't even know.
He thinks we're just friends,
Nothing more.

Sometimes I catch myself,
Daydreaming about what 'should' be.
But on the inside,
I know it's impossible.

My heart aches,
At the sight of Him.
Feeling the newly discovered pain,
Of knowing he's just your friend!
