Beauty Poem by Dahlia Fujiwara

Beauty

she stood ivory skin as soft as the finest silks
her hair was onyx perfumed with cherry blossoms
her lips two full budding roses
pink and sweet
her eyes almonds lovely

she was beauty

she sat one long dusky leg around the other
her hair thick black as coal
her skin was polished mahogany
rich in its earthen splendor

she was beauty

she twirled round and round
her crimson skirts flying out behind
her mocha skin stained with the desert dust
her hair long and black wild in the Tiajuana moonlight
her lips red painted with habanera kisses

she was beauty

she lay staring up at the vast sky
flaxen tresses resting on her shoulders
cerulean eyes hiding precious secrets
lips curled in a knowing smile
as the freckles dusted her ashen nose
and she gave herself into nature's bosom

she was beauty
