Beauty And The Beast Poem by Aaron Julien

Beauty And The Beast

Rating: 5.0

The pain of a broken man
The rage, the grief and the heartache
Disguised as happiness, humour and ecstasy
A beast disguised as a prince
His heart, emotions and mere being ripped apart
Living a life of lies and fabrication to hide what he truly is
But what is it that truly defines a man?
His past, his present or his future?
His character, his reputation or his nature?
His pride, his emotion or his fervor?
What will he say when judgement time is upon him?
What will he do when he meets his match?
A beauty capable of supressing his darkness
A beauty capable of exposing his light
What would this change bring upon him?
Will he cling on in desperation? Or let go in apprehension?
Will his salvation come in the form of true love?
An emotion once speculated as a myth?
Has the balance finally tipped in his favour?
These perpetual questions will be answered in one moment
The moment their eyes meet
The moment they exchange smiles
The moment their lips touch
The Beauty and the Beast.
