Because I Trusted Her Poem by Gagandeep Singh

Because I Trusted Her

I trusted my friend.
She used to end the call in my midsentence.
I never minded that.
Because I trusted her.
She often said she didnt have time for me.
I never doubted that.
Because I trusted her.
She told me I was crazy and uncompromising.
I never argued with that.
Because I trusted her.
Whenever I called her someplace, she never ever came.
I never complained to her.
Because I trusted her.
I waited for hours to see her.
She looked the other way.
I never asked her why.
Because I trusted her.
I gave her a present.
She left it on the table.
I didnt even lose my temper.
Because I trusted her.
I told her I was waiting for her.
She said 'whatever'.
I thought she was joking.
Because I trusted her.
I asked her if she missed me.
She said she didnt have that much time.
I agreed with her.
Because I trusted her.
Then one day she came to me.
She asked me to turn around and close my eyes.
I thought she was going to give me a surprise.
She did.
She stabbed me in the back.
Then she left me bleeding and said she was sorry.
That she did it because of.................
I couldnt hear the last part
Because the pain had deafened my ears.
As I lay bleeding to death,
all i could think about was..........
...... how much I had trusted her.
