Becoming Poem by Brittany Fegley

Becoming

I wish this could just be over
Everything
Not just the things I hate
But those of which
I love as well
A broken heart
Can be broken multiple times
Even if you think it can't
Break no more
The lies our beating hearts are fed
Wind up in our minds
Never spoken
Because those secrets we keep
Are not for our own pleasure
They are kept to protect
The ones that we love
But the again
Everyone keeps something
To themself
We flounder to find ourselfs
Through pain, agony, and trials
Sometimes
your breaking point
Needs to be tested
In order for you
To see life crystal clear
It'll always start out
as a merky watered pond
But remember
Your choices will define
Who you are
And what youll become
If you become that is
