Before It Is All Lost Poem by Sezen Ildiri

Before It Is All Lost

I sit and watch the people go by
As I have my morning coffee
They move about without much thought
And don't even notice me.

How sad that people hustle around
And live their isolated lives
No conscious for the hungry
And not hear the homeless and their cries

A better world is being lost
Humanity is slowly dying
Who will help the old and hungry
Who will help those crying.

Remember to reach out to others
What will it cost?
To be mindful of those around you
Before it is all lost
