Behind The Mask Poem by Ifeleye Ray

Behind The Mask

Rating: 5.0

BEHIND THE MASK
I know a pretty prickly queen
A wish which bewitched a commoner's heart
Praying and prying for such beauty in one piece
Though, that could arrive but behold the peace
Indeed, need for it feeds no soul
Her smile to the world but not in her home
Emptiness of her words flood her flowers
Meek seize and her milk flits
Yet no one sees the dim of her blissful brim
She is the pretender and the defender
As her greater gesture grows gully
Fake the fainted of fate but free me
I can see through your smiles, lies and life
Your coloured clothed mask leaves a bee behind
That flies high and reminds me of your plight
