Behold The King Of Calvary! Poem by Denis Martindale

Good Shepherd or Passover Lamb who dies as His life ends?
Who do the people say I am? The Saviour asked His friends.
Some saw Him as a preacher, according to God's plan,
Some saw Him as a teacher, known as the Son of Man.
And yet He was much higher than those God sent before,
Jesus Christ and God's Messiah, and worthy to adore.

Though once in Heaven at God's side, Christ's destiny was clear,
On Earth, He would get crucified once His last day drew near.
No wonder, at that solemn time, the Saviour would inspire,
To prove Himself to be sublime to save us from Hellfire.
No wonder that God raised His Son from suffering and death.
One Lord! One Saviour! Only one! Jesus of Nazareth!
