escape velocity from earth's orbit.

Being in love with you is like
feeling drunk when you are sober
rational when you are drunk.

Being in love with you is like
forgetting you are human
then remembering I am an atheist

Being in love with you is like
remembering things over and over again
waiting for amnesia to set in.

Being in love with you may not last
but a part of me knows
we haven't even started yet.

Being in love with you is an addiction.
Perhaps the pain was inflicted
only so I could find you to heal it.
Perhaps the full stops were all semi-colones
to long sentence which end with
I love you
