How do mend
A heart that's broken
Can it be healed
From words just spoken

Will a touch
From a friend
Help your heartache
On the road to mend

Or will it take the almighty
To help ease the pain
After all, we all live
Inside of his domain

I need someone to help me
Help me find a way
To shake loose from my grief
So I can carry on each day

Tonight before I go to bed
I will hit my knees
Then, I'll ask the Lord above
To please, help put my heart at ease

Try to make me whole again
Try to help me understand
That being lost and confused
Doesn't make any less of a man

Then maybe my broken heart
Can find a way to mend
Then, finally bringing all this hurting
To it's very end
