I thought she loved me
When fondly she looked into my eyes
And with her I got such hugs
That I felt I could never lose her
I knew she loved me
When she sent me a letter
Vowing to endless love,
Of how she misses me.
To me she loved me
When she said the sun never goes west
Without I crossing her mind
And she sounded real.
She seemed to love me
When every moment I looked at her
She gave such a glance and a smile
Of “you are mine sweetheart! ”
I thought she was mine
Until I saw her in the plantation
Holding someone by the waist
And whispering something in his ear
I knew she was mine
Until I realized a gift box with her
Inscribed “You are mine forever”
With a man’s name on it.
I thought she loved me truly
As she confessed
Until the day I got her
Tucked in a man’s arms
At distance zero
