Between Shadows And Light Poem by Peter S. Quinn

Between Shadows And Light

Between shadows and light
the tones dance into the night,
lost in the city of shadows
where each glow from a day goes.
The blossoms of day's fall
dreams that once were for all,
each morn that rose to the day
a light that comes and goes away.

Something so dark is in the air
light going from here to there,
flickering shadows dancing
in its flyaway and tranching.
Morning comes brightly soon
until there is again noon,
with the light of a new day
before it is dark and gray

Between the shadows and light
daydreams have lost their flight,
but the memories flicker on
until the evening is all gone.
Yesterday was once so new
going with the sunshine through,
now again it is all dimly dark
with a glow from a faraway star.
