Beyond My Blue Eyes Poem by John Shea

Beyond My Blue Eyes

Rating: 5.0

There is a sea of sorrows
It is always stormy and rough
Many strange creatures live there
Like needle fish with morphine like venom
Giant sharks that will devour your highest expectations
The beaches are covered with dying seaweed
Piled high are the plastic trash
Looking for a ride on a turtle or bird to catch
On the horizon volcanoes in the distance
Spewing out the poison they ingested
Mermaids are gone.
No sun no moon
Just haze.
Where do you find a sea like that?
Over yonder just beyond my blue eyes.
