Beyond The Abyss Poem by Julius Akim

Beyond The Abyss

Lonely were the nights,
Prolonged were my days,
Solitude my only friend,
Where have all the good things gone,
Why am I the only one left behind,
In this sick world I stuck.

Why am I like this?
You may ask me,
Let me tell you something,
Something about me,
I am nothing,
Just a mere mortal with finite life,
Why is this life so cruel upon me,
Why is living as hard as dying,
Gone were the days,
Of happy and merry life.

Yes! I will see u,
On the other side of this river,
The bells are tolling,
The reaper said, 'come my child',
I'm afraid my friend,
Where are my friends?

It's waiting for me,
I had no choice but to follow,
I had no courage to say 'no',
Least tell others,
Please don't cross the river,
It's a trap.

The gorge is deep,
The currents are strong,
But still I have to go,
It's calling me,
The reaper start to chafe,
Sayonara my friend!
See u in the other side.

Someday beyond the abyss,
I will meet my maker,
I will tell him,
Of how dreadful and ugly my life was.
