turn up the music and
let it pound as we
dance and grind and writhe
against sweaty bodies illuminated by
the swirl of cheap coloured lights.
laugh hysterically as you
spin and twirl wildly
amongst the blur of
glazed-over eyes set in faces
pulled back in animal snarls
here, there is no room for the
pain, sanity brings.
let the drinks flow endlessly because we need to
drown out the voice inside,
that cries out for you to find
meaning beyond the bright coloured lights.
