Big Bear,2010 Poem by Aj Anwar

Big Bear,2010

Rating: 5.0

people of the tropical lands on the snow
lumping, wrapped in thick winter jackets
enduring the cold season down to the marrow
only the feeling of excitement delivered warmth
awkwardly operating the ski gear, down
falling and again, could only slid so little
but laughed so much, heartily
we people of the sun were never here
to challenge nature nurturing the long tradition
of the people of the snow, no
for those who've come to our country
were also burnt by heat and wet in sweat
feeling the rain, equally awed
in exchange both learn to appreciate

and on freezing snow the tropical people blushed
warmly greeted by the winter, smiling in the know
in silent
