Bill Regan Poem by Francis Duggan

Bill Regan

Bill Regan gone from Ballydaly he died at ninety four
He will never more be seen cycling on the roadway towards Rathmore
On his way home from Millstreet Town his was a well known face
And in the minds of family and friends he will always have a place.

Survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and by Abbey his wife
Bill Regan was a good man and he led an honest life
In his ninety four years of living he never harmed anyone
His father and his mother in him did raise a good son.

In green old Ballydaly the changes are happening fast
But as 'tis often said of life that few things ever last
From his home in Ballydaly just a few miles away
With the deceased of Millstreet Parish Bill Regan's remains now lay.

Though he lived some ninety four years and he was a great grand-dad
News of the passing of Bill Regan to read of very sad
He never harmed anyone in his lengthy life span
A humble quiet achiever he was a decent man.
