Birch, all American black bear,
Is foraging for goodies that
Keepers have hidden here and there
In play things in his habitat.
As soon as Birch comes outside, he
Can smell the goodies in the breeze.
Nuts, raisins, sunflower seeds be
Somewhere hiding for him to seize.
It takes no time at all and Birch
Is at his toys and shaking out
The rewards from his quite quick search,
Enjoying his success no doubt.
Birch can well smell out any clue
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
