Birthday Poem by Jimi Doyle

Birthday

Rating: 5.0

birth death oblivion
please Master again

today i received a surprise blessing:
a spider in my shower
up near the corner of the ceiling

he was getting splashed
with molecules of water
and sat watching

thank you Master as I enjoy
becoming aware
of splendid things

it has been many years
since I have killed a bug
(except for horseflies and mosquitos,
of course, they are in a war)

silverfish thank you
millionpede thank you
ants thank you (I saw them in formation carrying a dead moth
out
of
my house)

the slender pale green hopper
with antennae 3 or 4 times
the length of his body with which
he delicately
somehow
senses our world

thank you

birth death oblivion
please Master again
