Birthday Poem for My Sister

Today is the day
That you turn 25 years, so may i say hooray
You're half a century old
But thank God you are not yet bold
Still half way to go
Before the wrinkles will start to show
Or am i starting to see one coming up
Luckily it only shows in a close up
I can keep going on
Cause teasing you is just so much fun
But what i mostly want to say
Is that you became 1 year older, and no one can take that away
I know this year is not a happy way
To celibrate your birthday
But chin up sweetie pie
Cause you are still going to touch the sky
Laughter will come back in your life
And certain memories you will need to cut off with a knife
So hush little sister, don't you cry
Cause there is love around you, and that you should not deny
Seeing you after all those years
Made me cry home with happy tears
Your heart is in the right place
Yet i feel so much sorrow that you should erase.
But thats what sisters are for
To help each other get through this emotional war
It's hard for me to deny my own blood
So baby sister, i'm gonna drag you through the mud
Now smile for me on this beautiful day
Cause i, my sweet sister, am wishing you a Happy Birthday

Poem of the Day

poet Helen Hunt Jackson

The month of carnival of all the year,
When Nature lets the wild earth go its way,
And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
