Birthday Wishes For My Step-Daughter Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Birthday Wishes For My Step-Daughter

Deborah, I rack my brains,
If brains I have,
For something good to say,
To wish you well on this,
Your forty fourth Birthday.

These Birthdays come once each year,
Whether we wish them to, or not,
To count the days from our Birth,
And take count of the blessings that we have got.

For Life is what we wish it to be,
Our happiness is in our hands,
How we spend our time on this Earth,
And make our daily plans.

To do the things we wish to do,
To spread happiness and not sadness,
To enjoy our work, friends and family,
And put away the madness.

So spend the day as you wish to do,
Step back from pain and sorrow,
Let others' arguments pass you by,
For there is always a Tomorrow.

Fill Tomorrow and your future years,
With work and daily pleasure,
Spent how you would like it to be,
In moods serene and with peace of mind,
And in Health for good measure.
