Bits And Pieces Poem by Violet Eztli

Bits And Pieces

Sleep talking
face down, walking
eyes glittering
hands fidgeting
there’s a chill in the air
frozen hair
the orange noon
and the lavender moon
on dark glass
and a darker past
whisper of a silhouette
parents sing their Spanish duet
painted cheeks
hand prints on the sheets
ashen logs
and dachschund dogs
silver fences
failed defenses
woeful ghosts
and silent hosts
messy art
scribbles on the heart
