Was I crazy?
Yes, crazy about you.
You quickly took the center stage
In my play on life.
But then, they were there.
They rained on our parade.
We drowned in our costumes.
They said they knew
What was best.
We never realized
What that meant.
So they skewered our hearts
And toasted them to a false perfection.
Take a bite, savor it.
Devour the rest.
Let them finish us off.
Fools who play God
Never realize that
Falling out of love
Feels a lot like dying.
