All In Your Head (Or Was It Mine?) Poem by Squizzle Jellyfish

All In Your Head (Or Was It Mine?)

You possess not one admirer,
For they themselves possess you
Deriving you of your happiness
You never even attained knowledge of

You are miserable;
Void of love
Unable to love again
Break the trance now!

Alas, your apathy has not allowed it to be done
Thus making your chance of recovery bleaker yet
And diminishing ever more, ever quickly
And all that can be done must be done by you
If you fail, happiness shall be just a colorful image
Locked deep within the confines of your mind
And no one could ever tell wherein the key lies

Such a grim time…
Is there truly no light to be found?
Search for the undiscovered
Ponder the unknown
Correct the unproven
Expand the contracted
Explore the fearsome uncharted
And love forever those who have not known love
Then—and only then—may happiness be found
And an end put to the blood-stained love notes

Scars of the past sealed deep within and forgiven
But never forgotten...
As the memories fade to black,
Observe the scars as they remain unchanged by time

Tell me! Tell me! Please won't somebody tell me?
How am I to forget or forgive?
I gave you my heart…
My life; yours to assist gently—had you cared at all
Your name; scripted meticulously upon my flesh
Not in the red ink of a lover,
But in the blood of a victim
You need not worry,
I shan't perish
Under the knife that a tortured mind directs at my throat
Perhaps…In continuation of this
Fear shall be stricken into the heart
Of whom I intended all along…

So tell me, Love
How do you think now?
With the scars of the past
Still screaming defeat
One thousand blood-stained notes...
Stashed in darkness—
Never to reveal the secret light of truth
No scar, nor any streak of blood painstakingly illustrated
Upon parchment torn and frayed
(Not unlike the nerves of the illustrator)
Could ever satisfy your egomaniacal yearnings.
Your unrivaled omnipotence
Exists only in your mind.
